A high-density storage system for many identical products is called Drive-in Pallet Racking System. To access pallet goods on continuous rails from one side or both sides, forklifts must penetrate the racking system. Fewer aisles are left open because of the unique design of the drive-in pallet rack. As a result, the storage density is significantly boosted by up to 75%, and more pallets can be stored in the same amount of area than with other traditional pallet racking systems.

The main components of the Drive-in Pallet Racking System include upright frames, beams, bracing, pallet rail, double-sided rail support, single-sided support, ground guild rails, column protector, etc.

The earliest stored items will be the last to be picked in a drive-in racking system because there is only one place for trucks to drive into and out of each lane.

     

To load or unload pallets on horizontal rails in a drive-in system, a forklift operator must drive into the system. The pallet in front of the following one needs to be removed before the subsequent pallet loads of the same lane can be retrieved from the same entry point.

A First-in/Last-out (LIFO) operation order leads to low product selectivity as well as slow product rotation.
